Francesco De Gregori – Amore di pomeriggio

Francesco De Gregori invita Slep, nel settembre del 1999, ad entrare a far parte della sua nuova band che comprenderà, oltre al “capo-banda” Guido Guglielminetti, anche Raymond Dumbè, bassista di Miriam Makeba, Mohktar Samba, bassista di Selif Keita e dei francesi “Ultramarine”, Ambrogio Sparagna, direttore del “Festival della Notte della Taranta”, all’organetto diatonico e Greg Cohen, contrabbassista di Tom Waits. Il gruppo, nel 2000, dopo un anno di tour che tocca il suo apice in occasione del concerto nel Teatro Greco di Taormina (Me), del festival della “Fiera d’Oltremare” di Napoli (60.000 spettatori) e dello show nell’area di Testaccio a Roma (100.000 spettatori), si riunisce nello studio gestito dal cantautore Mimmo Locasciulli a Tivoli (Roma) per realizzare il nuovo album “Amore di Pomeriggio” che sarà pubblicato dalla Columbia Records nel 2000 e vincerà la “Targa Tenco”.

 

Arti e Mestieri

 

“Arti e Mestieri”, la progressive rock band di Furio Chirico e Beppe Crovella, invita Slep, durante il 2003, a sostituire il chitarrista fondatore Gigi Venegoni e ad unirsi al tour che la vedrà protagonista, insieme ai “Wishbone Ash”, del “Prog Day Festival” di Durham (North Carolina – USA). Un album, “Prog Day 2003”, verrà registrato e pubblicato dalla Electromantic – BMG, dopo il ritorno in Italia.

 

Six- String Soul / One for the Show

 

Slep, nel 1986, dà forma al suo progetto “Slep and Red House” che comprende anche Giuseppe “Naps” Napoli e Beppe Canavero, ex “Out of Time”. In seguito, Salvatore “Banzai” La Rocca si unisce al gruppo. La band, connotata da un energico stile rock-blues, che ne caratterizza tre decenni di tour ininterrotti, accompagna tutt’ora la produzione musicale di Slep e vanta partecipazioni a rock-compilation internazionali quali “It’s just a matter of time” (ZeroHour, Australia, 1994) e ha visto avvicendarsi nel suo organico musicisti quali Elio Rivagli, Guido Guglielminetti, Alberto Marsico, Enzo Zirilli, Umberto Mari, Andrea Penna, Puzzle e molti altri.
